Festivals In Pithoragarh

Dhwaj Fair
The fair is held at the Dhwaj Tample on the occassion of Shivratri.A great number of devotee throng fromm all over the Pithoragarh .The fair a symbole dedication to Lord Shiva by the devotee.

Punyagiri Fair
Punyagiri Shakti Peeth (20 km. from Tanakpur) situated on the top of a mountain on the right bank of the river Kali is the site for many fairs. The temple is very crowded during the Navratris of Ashwin and Chaitra months. The Punyagiri fair, starting from Vishuwat Sankranti is the longest fair of Kumaon, lasting for about 40 days.

Thal Fair
Just like the Jauljibi Fair a fair is held at Thal on Vaishakh Sankranti (14th April).

Jauljibi Fairs
Every year on the occassion of Makar Sankranti a fair is held at Jauljibi, 68 km. from Pithoragarh.The confluence of the rivers Kali & Gori is the place where it is held.People sell and purchase Horses, Ghee foreign goods ,leather goods etc.
